After a long day of tripping, pulling up to your site and setting up camp can be the last of your arduous tasks for the day. At this point, your bodies exhausted and dinner is the only thing on your mind. Sometimes in these circumstances, it’s easy to forget to assess your site for potential dangers. A hazard that is often overlooked is the presence of standing dead wood. Dead trees, for obvious reasons, are much more susceptible to falling on top of you in the middle of the night.
